"Created for God's Pleasure" is written for all women in general and single Christian women in particular.  It is a concentration on some of the challenges and blessedness of a life of singleness.  The main message of the book is that the single Christian woman, not having the distraction of a partner, has a prominent place in God's plan for His Church and Kingdom.  This book portrays a living reflection of the heart of twelve women, involved in a multiplicity of professions, faithful in their service to God, but single.  They have never been married.  From their testimonies we find sadness, disappointment, resignation, hope deferred and somewhere in the midst of it all, some acceptance of what might inevitably be "God's will" for their lives.

The women who have contributed to this book are all Christians.  Faithful in their service to God but are on their own and does not wish to be.  They have never been married and would like to be.

[We have not disregarded the plight of those women who were once married and are now single through the circumstances of separation by death or divorce].

Many single women have accepted this role of being single with grace; however, many others appear to have taken up a lamentation of what they see as an unacceptable plight (a situation forced upon them); albeit ordained by a loving God and Father.  And so, we find disappointment, sadness, resignation, hope deferred, disdain and in some cases depression.  But, somewhere in the midst of all the varying emotions, we find some acceptance of what might inevitably be "God's will"!

Having created us, God reserves the right to keep us to Himself by not giving us away in marriage, so that we can serve Him with undivided devotion and without distractions.

This book concentrates on some of the challenges and blessedness of 'being single'.  It highlights the idea that the single Christian woman has a very special and privileged place in God's Kingdom.  The testimony of 12 single women reflects the yearning of hearts and desires waiting to be fulfilled.   Many have accepted the role of singleness with grace; awaiting the fulfillment of their dreams and the prophecies spoken over their lives.  Others see it as an unacceptable plight, a situation forced upon them and therefore their lives are plagued by sadness, disappointment and hope deferred.

Singleness for many is only for a season, a time to allow God's perfect will and purpose to be accomplished in our lives.  Then from another perspective, having created us God reserves the right to keep us to Himself by not giving us away in marriage, so that we can serve him with undivided devotion and without distractions.
